Can become stuck if floating above water. If destroyed: Instantly immobilises the PT-76B. If damaged: Reduces power output and acceleration over land/water is greatly decreased. Destroying the engine will not result in a catastrophic kill. The engine is able to survive 270 points of damage before failing. Depletion of the hull's integrity will result in a catastrophic kill. It takes 80% less damage from high-explosive (HE) type munitions.
The hull can withstand up to 960 points of damage.
Any strikes on non-highlighted parts will cause little (if any) noticeable damage. Note that in order to inflict actual damage, a munition must first penetrate through the surrounding armour plates and directly hit the component's weak point. Up to six passengers can ride on the tank's exterior (behind the turret). The PT-76B retains a seating capacity of three crewmen - supporting a driver, a gunner and a commander.

Armour-piercing munitions can potentially penetrate the turret's thin plating and critically damage the containers if the PT-76B isn't at full integrity, this can result in the PT-76B's swift destruction from just one well-placed shell. Most of all, the turret's twin ammunition containers are incredibly vulnerable to being struck due to their positioning in the turret. In addition, the PT-76B optics are much worse compared to the ones used by T-55 tanks. Unlike its Main Battle Tank counterpart, the PT-76B is unable to fight other armoured vehicles head-on since the performance of its anti-vehicle shells are lacklustre at best. Most amphibious vehicles - save for perhaps the BRDM2 scout car, do not even come close to this degree of agility on water. The PT-76B is surprisingly quite agile thanks to its powerful engine, and can make sharp turns while maintaining a steady sailing speed of ~ 8-9 km/h.
Where it excels in is traversing over water. Its handling also isn't too different and has a similar (decent) turn rate. On land, the PT-76B is slower than most APCs/IFVs with a top speed of approximately ~ 51 km/h. Because of this configuration, PT-76Bs are flexible force multipliers that can support troops during an amphibious landing, using the main gun to destroy enemy fortifications and knock out light vehicles with its plentiful HE munitions. They can insert and extract by land or sea like most Soviet-made APCs and IFVs within its weight class.
Together, this provides a combined amount of 2,000 rounds.Ĭombining the attributes of a Medium Tank with the mobility of an Armoured Personnel Carrier/Infantry Fighting Vehicle, PT-76Bs retain the capability to traverse over bodies of water thanks to being fully amphibious. The coaxial MMG on the other hand is pre-loaded with a single 1,000-round belt, and offers only one spare belt to reload with. The standard loadout of the PT-76B provides it 8 rounds of high-velocity armour piercing (HVAP-T), 24 high-explosive (HE-T), and 8 high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT-T) shells for the main gun. It is armed with a rifled 76 mm gun that can fire both anti-vehicle and anti-personnel shells, along with a coaxial 7.62 mm medium machine gun. It features some improvements over its predecessor that are intended to improve the tank's lethality. The PT-76B is an updated variant of the original PT-76 Light Tank first commissioned for service in 1951.
